World football’s governing body FIFA on Tuesday, February 7, said it had extended the ban on Chris Giwa and four other officials who have been involved in a leadership battle with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF). It was gathered that FIFA said its disciplinary committee had  “decided to extend the five-year ban from taking part in any kind of football-related activity on Chris Giwa and four others.” In a statement on its website, FIFA said that the ban would apply worldwide. The statement read:  “In accordance with art. 136ff of the FIFA Disciplinary Code, the chairman of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee has decided to extend the five-year ban from taking part in any kind of football-related activity imposed on the five officials to have worldwide effect.” The other officials banned alongside Chris Giwa are Muazu Suleyman, Yahaya Adama, Sani Fema and Johnson Effiong. A Federal High Court in Lagos on Monday, sentenced three convicts, Okechukwu Nwachukwu, Osita Ilechukwu and Blessing Eluwa to a term of 5 years imprisonment each for cocaine trafficking. The accused were charged by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on three counts bordering on conspiracy, unlawful importation and trafficking of restricted narcotics. They had pleaded not guilty to the charges. The prosecution led by Mr Abu Ibrahim had then opened trial in the suit on March 10, 2016. He called 11 witnesses and tendered a total of 21 documents as exhibits before the court. The convicts testified for themselves while final addresses were adopted on Nov. 28, 2016. National leader of the governing APC and former Governor of Lagos, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has asked for more time for his party to fulfill its electoral promises. Tinubu was speaking when a clutch of protesters led by  Moremi Ojudu , paid him a visit on Monday. Gov  Ayodele Fayose  has revealed that he will occupy the seat of the Nigerian President someday. The Ekiti State governor made this known on Saturday, February 4, 2017 in Ado Ekiti while speaking to journalists. In his words: “ It is according to God’s will that I will one day become the president of Nigeria “Do not bother to ask me questions as to how this will materialise, I also do not know how it will happen but all I know is that I shall one day occupy the presidential villa, not as a visitor but as president,"  he said.
