As Mazda announced, they are preparing a new engine technology that will be introduced next year. This technology will reduce fuel use by 30%, and it will be available without spark plugs, according to the latest report. The new line of engines will be unveiled near the end of 2018 and the first vehicle to feature one is the next-gen  Mazda 3 , also known as the Axela in Japan. The technology is named homogenous charge compression ignition ( HCCI ), and it functions in a way that ignites the mixture of air and fuel under high pressure, and because of that, the combustion is far more efficient compared to the usage of the traditional spark plugs. The second-generation  Volkswagen Tiguan  will hit the US market in summer 2017. Luckily, we got a chance to see the long-wheelbase 2018 model, which was revealed just before the Detroit Auto Show.
